The novel,Mansion on the Hill, began as a spoof of a highly publicized 1990's trial, but as the story developed it took on a life of its own. This zany tale which takes place in rural Alabama during the 1930's,is about Oscar James (OJ) Samson, a poor farm boy who turns corn into wealth in the moonshine business,then goes on to become a well-known country singer/songwriter. It tells who's brutally bludgeoned body is found in a hogpen along side the body of a local restaurant worker, and of OJ's subsequent arrest and trial. This satire has romance, murder, suspense and mystery. It delves into the backgrounds of some of the key players.
